FAPSA's Role
  • The Federation of Asia-Pacific Philosophy in Schools Associations is the peak body for philosophy teachers in the Asia-Pacific region.
    
        
  • We are a member organisation of the International Council of Philosophy with Children (ICPIC), whose principles and values guide our work.
    
        
  • We develop the standards and courses for teachers to teach Philosophy in the Classroom (P4C) across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and the broader Asia-Pacific.
    
        
  • Through professional development and advocacy initiatives, F.A.P.S.A. seeks to enrich and expand philosophy education and P4C pedagogical practice in primary and secondary schools across our regions.
Certification

P4C Courses


To become a Philosophy for Children (P4C) teacher FAPSA has certified a series of courses that are delivered by our regional members. They are;

  1. Introductory Philosophy in Education – Learn how to teach P4C
  2. Advanced Philosophy in Education – Learn how to develop your own materials
  3. Teacher-educator Training – Learn how to train other teachers
